This\u00a0<strong>API<\/strong>\u00a0is available in C++, C#, Swift and Java (Android). Binaries from the master branch currently carry version 5.3.x-alpha, and you can find\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff5e00;\"><strong><em><a style=\"color: #ff5e00;\" href=\"https:\/\/download.linphone.org\/snapshots\/docs\/liblinphone\/5.3\/c\/group__alert.html\">the full documentation for this API here<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>We have implemented monitoring for the following events:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The webcam produces no image.<\/li>\n<li>The webcam frame rate is low.<\/li>\n<li>The reception of video packets is blocked for a given duration.<\/li>\n<li>The packet loss exceeds a given rate for a given duration.<\/li>\n<li>The Receiver Report indicates a packet loss of a given rate.<\/li>\n<li>Nack retransmission is ineffective.<\/li>\n<li>Packets are lost in bursts.<\/li>\n<li>The estimated bandwidth is below a given threshold.<\/li>\n<li>The video stream is received with a bandwidth below a given threshold.<\/li>\n<li>The video definition sent is below a given definition.<\/li>\n<li>The terminal detects a weak network signal (available only on Android, as this information is not available on iOS).<\/li>\n<li>The terminal has lost the network signal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The feedback from these events takes the form of traces in\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff5e00;\"><strong>Linphone&#8217;s logs<\/strong><\/span>. They are time-stamped and reference the call-id, as well as the sender and recipient of the SIP call. Some events provide additional data that are useful for interpreting and understanding these events.<\/p>\n<p>When an event is triggered,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff5e00;\"><strong>LinphoneCore<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0is notified via a callback. The various events are checked at regular intervals. If the data fall below the alert threshold again, the alert is notified via a callback stating that the incident has ended.<\/p>\n<p>All thresholds and check intervals can be set in the liblinphone configuration file.<\/p>\n<p>This\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff5e00;\"><strong>alert API<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0has a\u00a0<strong>dual purpose<\/strong>: on the one hand, it enables applications to\u00a0<strong>display relevant incident messages to users<\/strong>, in real time. On the other hand, they enable applications to\u00a0<strong>provide a monitoring service<\/strong>\u00a0with a summary of quality of service incidents that may occur among users.
